Marius Dimitriu, 19, graduated from high school in 2003 in Iasi, a town located in northeastern Romania. He comes from a professional background and is the son of two engineers. Due to limited job opportunities, however, only his father is employed. He has five brothers.

As a 2003 scholarship recipient, Marius is attending Al. I. Cuza University in Iasi, Romania. He is enrolled in a four-year program in the Faculty of Computer Science with the hopes of then continuing into a Master's degree program. Marius' interest in computers dates back to when computers first appeared. Marius comments, "Computers were a miracle for that time, and I have been fascinated with them (ever since)." In school he has learned computer-based mathematics and computer programming. Marius' older brother studies Computer Science as well.

In his spare time, Marius enjoys riding his bike, using the internet, participating in his youth group, and reading the Bible.
